Chapter 25-29

Chapters 25-29

As Ned keeps fighting more wars his experience starts to grow more and more. He gets to fight all sort of different armies installed in Japan, this makes him scared that the Japanese might end up doing very aggressive making a move that might determine the death of many of his friends and even himself. A war that he will clearly remember was Okinawa was his almost last battle he was again in an island that was very dangerous but he knew how to defend himself by now so he was not scared of that anymore he was scared more that this was were many Japanese important soldiers where installated. The war was won by a bombing Japan after ignoring that Japan wrote a letter that would bring peace to both nations but America wanted to win. After the bombing Ned retired from the military and lived a life with his wive were he used to live when he was little.

'' Iwo Jima was the key.''( Ch 27 , Paragraph 1 ) This is a quote said by Ned that explains some of the strategies of America . This is how all the soldiers that were in the war taught and reflected. I belief this quote represents what all soldiers are like very serious always concentrated and never given up on thinking new strategies that will make them help their nation. I would love to speak and talk to a real soldier and see how they are like and really ask them personal questions of how is it really out there or are they all just jokes and fun . I would love to meet a soldier one day.

This was a very interesting book that I would really recommend specially if you are researching about the World War 2 and how each country moved and attacked certain strategies. This book I would give it a 8/10 I believe this because it was interesting at some points but it also some actions become very repetitive as the book advances. Is a great book to research and to know how did it feel to be and indigenous and been not be treated respectfully and how you had to earn by your actions that respect. This book was really interesting and very factual.

Chapters 19-24

Ch 19-24

Chester( Neds new name after war) is getting married after dropping out of the military he goes back to Kansas University to finish his career and fells in love with a girl named Ethel, he buys a house and before you now it he is engaged preparing for a wedding, its 1952. Chester retires and starts working in the Veterans Hospital as a doctor and lives with some Navajo friends and their wives, Ethel is pregnant with a first child this first child dies after a couple of months Ethel is pregnant and looses her child again so her and Chester decide to adopt her niece, Thya. Navajo code went on for 23 more years as a secret code for the American Navy. In 2001 Chester is recognized for his hard work and given a gold medal from the president, George Bush. Chester is a military that the U.S. must be thankful for having.

"I think about how, in my life, cultures have collided—the quiet of Navajo land giving way to military training, the strict order of military training exploding into the chaos of battle." (23.4)A quote sed by Chester how he had liven a great live and how much he had experienced. His telling this to his Grandsons how war and the different cultures he visited affected what he learned. I belief that war is a very hard place to be at and how Chester had moved on is a very talented skill.
Military man are very respected for what they do its a very brave profession.

In the next chapters I belief that the author might drift to write about Chester future and many accomplishments he had. I think this because the author is already going that direction when writing so its very predictible he will still go that way. Chester live and his sons life it can even talk about his grandsons life and how he might think war affected his grandpa. This was a very good book cannot wait to read the end.

Chapters 13-18

Chapters 13-18

Ned Is going to Hawaii to battle in the U.S marines he goes there as a code talker. He starts its journey and he is in charge to look out for enemy airplanes to avoid bombers. He imidiatley starts batteling Japanese during that journey he understands and studies the Japanese soldiers rules one of wich had to do with their lifes. War lasts about 3 months in his island but its finally over it was the first time he faught so he was very stressed about going home and telling his parents. At the end of war he is choosen to improve his position to be the 3rd squad of the marines he takes it but the good thing is that he dosent go by himself he goes with his friends Georgia boy and many more. He is translated to another island in Asia called Guam at that time there he learns many new word he had to use from other code talkers. He finnaly finds out that Georgia Boy was a soildier sent to protect him, In Bouganville another island where he was starting another war with Japanese he was forced to take pills from Malaria but he did not want them so commanders had to open his mouth and force him.

"Suddenly two United States soldiers waylaid us. "Don't move, Japs," one of them said. "Why are you wearing United States Marine uniforms?" (16.14-15) This quote is in chapter 16 when one of the navy headquater military confuses Chester a military solider with japanese. This shows that the U.S. military was very worried that they might have some spies serving with the army. A famous war quote by Jack Weinberg a military " in war you cannot trust anyone'' . They were having trouble in that time because they were under war. Ned was very excited too.

In the next few chapters I believe that many people like Georgia Boy and Chester might be discovered of a terrible secret. I say this because it seems that something is going to happened to them because they are being mentioned too much during the book. Also I belief Japanese will discover the secret language that the navy is using because they are starting to give hints of the language being used by Japanese. I think next chapters will be great.
