Kii Yahzi is getting much more excited and organized in boarding school he evens have a dream to become a soldier for the U.S. A Marine recruiter comes to the boarding school Kii Yazhi would love to be recruited but he is only 15 and you had to be 17 years old to even participate but he wants it so much that next time he will make his parents lie to say he has the right age. After 1 years another Marine recruiter came he participated in the program and enters, his family starts the ceremony of protection and blessing a home town priest does the honour . His program only included Navajo men he did not understand that until they got to the marine boarding school he was recruited to become the first group of Navajos that develop a new code for the american army like morse code. This program was because Japanese had know all american secret languages so the american army could not send any more messages. Kii Yazhi will be a great marine.
"But there was a problem. They were only accepting men between the ages of seventeen and thirty-two. I was still only fifteen years old" (Chapter 7, p. 43). This is a quote said by Kii Yazhi about how marines were recruiting people from his boarding school and how he was not the right age and how desperate he was. Kii Yazhii was a young man full of courage you could see because he will have to be a part of the marines and U.S. army that can be one of the most dangerous jobs because it can cost you your life but he wanted it. He will be competing for a spot with people much older than him and wanted to win them. Kii Yahzi a Navajo man that was very special not like other people. This book has been full of surprises so the next prediction is not a very accurate one. Kii Yazhi will become a code talker to different areas of the war he will be in charge of the messages and some messages will have decisions of death or live between people and he will suffer a lot. Finally he will break down he will tell the code to Japanese because is a country he really likes.
